Art Kauai 2012, Kauai’s annual juried art show, opens Friday, August 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kauai Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Shopping Center. The event is free and open to the public.
From 76 submitted works, juror David Behlke selected 54 that will be on display. He’ll do a juror’s walk, discussing the show and his selections.
Following the opening, the gallery will continue to carry the show through September 11. It is free for viewing and open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a late closing on Fridays at 8 p.m.
Behlke is an artist, the director/curator of the Koa Art Gallery at Kapi`oani Community College and a full professor there, as well. It’s located on the back slopes of Diamond Head, overlooking Waikiki.
