Historical Society Annual Meeting Today at Island School

square-2016_calendarThe Kaua‘i Historical Society will hold its annual meeting at Island School today, this Saturday, at 1 p.m. The school is behind Kaua‘i Community College in Puhi.

During the meeting, KHS Executive Director Helen Wong Smith will show which online resources contain credible information on Hawaiʻiʻs history.

A librarian and archivist with more than 35 years of experience working with Hawaiian collections, Smith will present reputable online resources on topics ranging from land use to legends from government, academic and private entities.

KHS-Logo1The meeting is open to the public, KHS members and non-members. Anyone interested in history research is welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

The meeting will include:

— Review of 2015 accomplishments

— Nomination and election of new board members

— “Online Hawaiian History Resources” presented by Helen Wong Smith

— Recognition and mahalo to volunteers

— Upcoming events
