Kukui Grove Center Scores Big With Addition of The Sports Authority

IMG_6603Kukui Grove Center is pleased to announce the future opening of The Sports Authority in the spring of 2014. The sporting goods retailer will occupy Suite G00; the former Sears electronics space, next to General Nutrition Center.
The Sports Authority operates over 450 stores in 45 states and dates back almost a century of being an industry leader in providing a wide assortment of quality, brand-name sporting goods.
“We are excited to expand our footprint in Hawai‘i with the opening of our first Sports Authority store on the Garden Island next year, which will be our eighth location in Hawai‘i,” said Michael E. Foss, Chief Executive Officer of Sports Authority. “We look forward to providing industry-leading customer service and great value to the families, athletes and fans of Kaua‘i.”
CBRE Vice President of Consulting and Investment Services and Kukui Grove Center General Manager Wade Lord shares the same amount of passion in positioning Kukui Grove as the leading shopping center with the right mix of merchants. To use a sports euphemism “adding Sports Authority to our lineup of retailers is a homerun.  We are working hard to bring great retail to Kaua‘i,” said Lord.  The opening of Sports Authority is the latest announcement following that of Pier 1 and America’s Mattress.  “We also hope to make an announcement in the next few weeks of another major retailer leasing the former Sears appliance store.”
