Napali Coast `Ohana Annual Meeting

Surveyor – Dave Wellman to speak

Napali Coast `Ohana, caretakers of Nu`alolo Kai State Park, will hold their annual meeting on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 5-8pm at the Frear Center for Hawaiian Culture & the Arts at Island School.

The event begins with a potluck dinner at 5pm, followed by the annual meeting at 6pm to review the past year’s accomplishments and elect officers for the coming year.

At 7pm Dave Wellman, a professional land surveyor and engineer based out of Eugene, Oregon will give an overview of the 3D scanning work performed at Nuʻalolo Kai in 2006.

Wellmanʻs work helped to establish the baseline data for the restoration of Kaunapueo, an ancient meeting or canoe house.(See photos below. )

Wellman is currently mapping Kaneiolouma in Po`ipu. He has also worked in Rapa Nui.
