This course teaches the basic concepts and skills of GIS/GPS to use GPS in the field and to visualize and analyze GIS data. Lesson Topics for Part 2: Datums and projections, Using a GPS to naviage and collect field info, Continued instruction on Transferring GPS data to ArcGIS, Georeferencing/Remote Sensing, Student Learning Outcomes for Part 2:Understand the difference between a Datum and Projection, Know what common datums and projections are used in Hawaii, Use a GPS with proficiency to collect data, Understand how to Georeference a satellite image, Understand the History of Hawaiian Cartography, Demonstrate a presentation using maps to tell a story. $405.
