The public is invited to the annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Day celebration sponsored by the Interfaith Roundtable of Kauai on Monday, January 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lihue Neighborhood Center, 3353 Eono Street, Lihue.
The celebration will feature a free lunch, music, a video on Dr. King’s life and guest speakers. This is not only an opportunity to learn more about Dr. King’s life, but also his legacy of service to humanity. Learn about service opportunities on our island.
Performer Blu Dux will lead participants in songs of peace and progress. Featured speakers include Cynthia Moore and Kumu Sabra Kauka, a teacher of Hawaiian Studies at Island School.
This year also marks the tenth anniversary of the formation of the Interfaith Roundtable of Kauai, a monthly gathering of representatives from a variety of faith groups from around the island dedicated to harmony and understanding.
