Storyteller Bonnie Kim, whose storytelling performance is enhanced with Czech-style marionette puppets and shadow puppets, will be a featured artist for the 2015 HSPLS Fall Children’s and Teens Program at six selected public libraries on Kauai, Lanai, Maui, and Oahu from November 8 – 21.  Admission is free.

Kim will present “Long Long Ago, When Tiger Smoked: Animal Tales from Korea.”  She will share trickster rabbit tales which are found all over the world from Africa, America to Asia.  The Korean trickster Rabbit and Tiger will generate laughter to all ages and bring old tales to life.

Following the puppet show, participants will have the opportunity to make simple shadow puppets and explore characterization and movement at four of the libraries.  Supplies will be provided.  This interactive program is suitable for ages 4 and older.  Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
