An Indian drum making workshop will be led by Chippewa artist, David Craig, in Wailua June 1, and Waimea, June 2. Participants will make a 12, 14 or 18-inch elk hide hand drum. Materials used in making the drum will include a rosewood round, elk skin head with rawhide lacing and a beater. David will share his Chippewa teachings of the drum, its history, uses and care while instructing participants through the drum making process. Cost varies by size of drum and includes all materials.
