2016 General Election Voter Registration Deadline
The Elections Division of the Office of the County Clerk is reminding the public that the last day to register to vote for the 2016 General Election is Monday, October 10, 2016.
Drive-thru voter registration services will be offered by the Elections Division on October 10, 2016, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., in the parking area fronting the Historic County Building and Annex in Līhu‘e.
To be eligible to vote, individuals must be a U.S. citizen, resident of Hawai‘i and at least 18 years old. Individuals who are 16 years of age may pre-register, but are not eligible to vote until age 18.
In addition to drive-thru voter registration, Kaua‘i residents have several other options to register to vote.
- Online at www.elections.hawaii.gov by 4:30 p.m. on October 10, 2016. A Hawaii Driver’s License or Hawaii State ID is required to register online.
- Mailing a completed Wikiwiki Voter Registration form to:
- Elections Division 4686 Rice Street Līhu‘e, Hawai‘i 96766
Mailed forms must be postmarked by October 8, 2016 as the USPS will be closed on October 10, 2016 in observance of Columbus Day. Forms are available at post offices, libraries, and at most state agencies, and can be downloaded from the Office of Election’s website at www.elections.hawaii.gov.
Apply in-person at the Elections Division at 4386 Rice Street in Līhu‘e by 4:30 p.m. on October 10, 2016.
