Merriman’s Fish House celebrated the fourth anniversary of their Kauai Restaurant with a very special fundraiser benefitting Kauai United Way (KUW) and Hale Opio, one of 30 KUW Participating Agencies that collectively serve a broad array of social service needs on the island. 100% of the proceeds from an evening under the stars with a sampling of Merriman’s signature dishes, excellent drinks, music and prize drawings will be added to 20% of the total revenues from both Merriman’s upstairs formal dining room along with their downstairs Gourmet Pizza & Burgers for the day to generate an important donation to Kauai social services.
“Chef Peter Merriman’s mission statement is very simply Do the Right Thing – for our Earth and each other – and this fundraiser to benefit the entire Kauai community is another demonstrable example of this elegant sentiment,” said KUW executive director Scott Giarman.
Merriman’s Fish House is committed to using at least 90% locally sourced ingredients from responsible growers that provide Merriman’s with the freshest, best tasting foods that support our island’s economy and healthy agricultural practices.
Kauai United Way is the island’s umbrella charitable organization. One contribution helps our whole island. Money raised on Kauai stays on Kauai. Kauai United Way’s Participating Agencies offer dozens of social service programs that save lives daily and help tens of thousands of Kauai people every year. When those in need in our community get the professional help they deserve, every one of us is better off. Let’s all live united – the Kauai United Way!
