Niumalu Women Champions at Liberty Challenge, New York City

Rachel Lim, Robin Jumper, Emiko Meyers, Makana Rivera, Shannon Campanero and Kathy Braach, Niumalu Womens Open Liberty Challenge Champions in front of the canoe loaned to them by the Conneticut team.

New York Outrigger hosted the 2013 Hawaiian Airlines Liberty Challenge Saturday, June 22. One of the largest sporting events in New York Harbor and one of the premier outrigger canoe races in the world, the day long competition hosts hundreds of paddlers and represents the best of the Aloha spirit. The Niumalu Canoe Club of Kalapaki Bay took first place in the women’s open/mixed open division.
