Auditions for Arsenic and Old Lace
KCP is opening the 2019 season with one of the most popular plays of all time, a hilarious and improbable comedy about two elderly sisters who have a calling to put lonely elderly men out of their misery with wine spiked with arsenic. Dennis McGraw is directing.
Auditions will be held on Friday, October 12 from 4pm to 7pm and on Saturday and Sunday, October 13 and 14 from 1pm to 4pm at the Kauai High School drama room located at 3577 Lala Road – mauka entrance of the high school, first building on the right.

Abby & Martha Brewster – Elderly spinster sisters. Very sweet and unassuming. Involved in many charities. 65 +
Teddy Brewster – The middle of the three Brewster nephews. He believes himself to be Theodore Roosevelt. He is clinically, but harmlessly, insane. 35 – 50
Mortimer Brewster – The youngest nephew. New York Times theatre critic. Dashing leading man. Love interest of Elaine. 30 – 40
Jonathan Brewster – Oldest nephew. Has been gone from the house for twenty years. A homicidal maniac. A large person. 40 – 55
Elaine Harper – The “girl next door”. Mortimer’s love interest. 20 – 30
The Reverend Dr. Harper – Runs the Parish next door to the Brewster property. Elaine’s father. 50 -60
Dr. Einstein – Jonathan’s associate. Bad/fake German accent that fades in and out depending on how excited he is. 30 to 50
Officers Brophy, Klein & O’Hara – N.Y.C. police officers. Male or female. Any of these three could, but not necessarily, have an Irish brogue. 25 – 50
Lieutenant Rooney – Tough N.Y.P.D. no nonsense detective. 40 – 60
