CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a critical program in the effort to engage everyone in America in making their communities safer, more prepared, and more resilient when incidents occur. Here in the middle of the Pacific a tsunami can strike at anytime and last year our State of Hawaii fortunately dodged 15 hurricanes. This is an opportunity for almost everyone living on Kauai to assist in protecting your own family, friends and your community by attending one of the CERT training classes listed below.
Using the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom and reinforcing those modules with practical application through role playing and exercises, the CERT Program provides fundamental skills and understanding to make meaningful decisions in responding to incidents in your community, your workplace, or your home. The Kaua’i Civil Defense Agency provides the FREE training which covers: basic disaster response, fire safety, light rescue, basic medical care and team organization in a 24-hour program offered in 4-hour segments.
PLEASE review the following invitation for more details regarding times and locations.
