Kumu hula and vocalist Leilani Rivera Low presents the students of Halau Hula o Leilani in an annual hula concert. Dancers from keiki to kupuna perform hula kahiko, hula auana, Maori haka, action songs, poi ball dances, plus Tahitian dances. Colorful costumes, unique implements, beautiful live music by Leilani and band, and great Tahitian drumming create an exciting show for all ages. Guest is Maori cultural teacher Kulani Jeremiah-Wong from Oahu, who taught dances to the halau. She and members of her family are also performing during the show. Hawaiian products for sale include jewelry, clothing, photography, snacks; local food for sale in lobby from 5:00. Auditorium opens at 6:30; show starts at 7:00. Raffle for a fine ukulele. Tickets at outlets and from halau members are $20 for adults and $10 for ages 4-15; prices $25 and $15 at the door.
