This course teaches the basic concepts and skills of GIS/GPS to use GPS in the field and to visualize and analyze GIS data.

Lecture topics: Data collection. Transferring GPS data to ArcGIS. Data sources. Editing. Building a Basemap. Remote Sensing. Learning outcomes: Understand the basic concepts behind Global Positioning Systems. Use a GPS to collect tracks and waypoints. Transfer GPS data into a GIS (ArcMap 10.2.2). Use ArcGIS to create a Map.
