Kauai Community College is the only community college in the University of Hawaii System to have a full instrumental music program. The Symphony Orchestra is made up of musicians of all ages and plays a variety of music.
This concert will feature “Mars” and “Jupiter” from Gustav Holst’s “The Planets,” Overture in Bb by Hummel, Themes from 007, and Mozart Piano Concerto No. 14 in Eb with special guest artist, SoJin Kimura. Ms. Kimura is a three-time soloist with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and a Morning Music Club Scholarship recipient. In 1994, she received the prestigious Schroeder Award from the National Piano Playing Guild after 10 years of participation. She was also featured as a soloist with the University of Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra. She currently is a lecturer at Windward Community College, where she teaches music and piano courses.
