Lunch with Kelvin Taketa, CEO of Hawaii Community Foundation

The Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF) is one of the largest and oldest community foundations in the nation. HCF engages over 1,000 donors and clients from Hawai‘i’s communities, businesses, nonprofits, and government, as well as stewards more than 800 funds and over $570 million in assets. With offices in every state county, HCF is a collaborative partnership distributing more than $45 million annually in grants, scholarships, and contracts on behalf of its donors and clients. In addition, HCF develops  solution-driven strategies to tackle important local challenges such as homelessness and fresh water supply, and strengthens leadership and performance within the nonprofit community.

In the business community, HCF works with organizations that view charitable giving as both a way to give back and as a vehicle for achieving their own goals, with options ranging from scholarship funds for employees and their families to giving to community nonprofits.

Kelvin Taketa, Chief Executive Officer of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, will address how to deal with today’s new challenges through community partnership and how Kauai’s business and community leaders are making a difference through giving.
