Studies show that 1 in 3 people will have diabetes by 2050. A low fat vegan diet can help prevent, manage and may even reverse diabetes. Diabetic diets typically call for portion control, carbohydrate limits, and, for those who are overweight, calorie restrictions. Fortunately, there is another way. Sharon will discuss how low-fat, plant-based diets are ideal for diabetes and the conditions associated with it, such as heart disease, weight gain, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. And they offer the advantage of not requiring any weighing or measuring of portions. Going hungry is not necessary! Sharon will also demo how to make lentil walnut taco meat and a plant based cheese sauce. This is a recipe that the whole family can enjoy.
