South Shore Ocean Safety Awareness Clinic scheduled for Feb. 15

The South Shore Ocean Safety Awareness Clinic presented by the Kaua‘i Fire Department Ocean Safety Bureau and the Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort in Po‘ipū.

The free event is aimed to educate and train the community on how to react in the event of an ocean-related emergency.

Topics will include areas of risk management, lifeguard operations, rescue skills and demonstrations, and more.

The clinic is open to the public, but those who work in the ocean-recreation and visitor industry are especially encouraged to register and attend. Space is limited, so interested participants are encouraged to register early.

To register for the South Shore Ocean Safety Awareness Clinic, visit the Kaua‘i Fire Department Ocean Safety Bureau office at the Līhu‘e Civic Center, Pi‘ikoi Building, 4444 Rice Street, Suite 315, in Līhu‘e. Individuals may also request an emailed registration form by calling 241-4984.
