The Elections Division of the Office of the County Clerk is reminding the public that the last day to register to vote for the 2014 General Election is Monday, October 6, 2014.

To be eligible to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Hawai‘i, and be at least 18 years old. Individuals who are 16 years of age can pre-register but are not eligible to vote until age 18.

Voter registration forms are available online at www.hawaii.gov/elections and at:

 U.S. Post Offices

 Public Libraries

 Yellow Pages

 Most State Agencies

Completed voter registration forms must be received by the Elections Division by 4:30 p.m. on October 6, 2014.

If mailed, voter registration forms must be postmarked on or before October 6, 2014 and must be accompanied by a photocopy of the applicant’s current and valid photo identification. Other acceptable forms of identification include:

 Current utility bill

 Bank statement

 Government check or paycheck

 Other government document what shows the name and address of the individual who is registering to vote

The General Election is on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
