RumFire’s Table 53 Celebrates National Red Cross Month

In honor of National Red Cross Month, RumFire Po‘ipu Beach announced the American Red Cross of Hawaii will receive proceeds from its Table 53 program in March 2017.

“The more you dine, the more we donate,” states the Table 53 program’s slogan.

The fundraising program at Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort’s oceanfront restaurant donates all net food and beverage proceeds from the designated table to a different local nonprofit organization each month, and it has raised more than $165,000 toward charitable causes since its inception in 2012.

National Red Cross Month is a time to recognize the critical services the humanitarian organization provides to the community, according to a Sheraton news release. The mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

The organization marks its Centennial Anniversary in Hawai‘i this year and welcomes the community to get involved by taking a Red Cross class to learn lifesaving skills, get prepared for disasters, volunteer or make a donation. For 100 years, the Red Cross has played a vital role in helping the people of Hawai‘i to recover from every major disaster, including hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions and air crashes.

Table 53 is at RumFire Po‘ipu Beach. The restaurant’s menu features locally sourced cuisine with global influences and an extensive cocktail menu that includes the largest rum selection on Kaua‘i. A hundred-and-eighty-degree oceanfront views can be enjoyed from each or RumFire’s 240 seats.

Patrons interested in participating in RumFire’s Table 53 program are encouraged to make reservations in advance by calling 808.742.4786 and requesting Table #53. Net proceeds for all food and beverage at Table #53 during dinner service will be donated to the charity of the month, gratuity will be paid to the server and taxes will be remitted to the State of Hawai‘i.
