County officials sent a press release Friday stating some residents have requested clarification regarding the State of Hawai‘i’s Primary and General Elections and the Presidential Preference Primary Election.

The State of Hawai‘i — Office of Elections together with the County of Kaua‘i — Office of the County Clerk, Elections Division is responsible for conducting the Primary Election Aug 8, and the General Election Nov. 3, according to the press release.

The Presidential Preference Primary Election which is currently taking place is the sole responsibility of the Democratic Party of Hawai‘i. The County of Kaua‘i Office of the County Clerk, Elections Division is not involved with this election.

Finally, note that official election information will only be disseminated directly through the Elections Division of Office of the County Clerk, the State Office of Elections, or via the Public Information Officer of the County of Kaua‘i.
