The County Transportation Agency announced there is now free public Wi-Fi available onboard The Kaua‘i Bus, according to a county news release last week.

“In an effort to modernize our service and bring digital equity to the community, the majority of our fleet has been outfitted with Wi-Fi access points,” Mayor Derek Kawakami said in the release. “The remainder of our fleet will be outfitted as vehicles are replaced later this year.”

There will be a Wi-Fi decal on the passenger door of the bus to indicate that there is Wi-Fi available onboard. Currently, Wi-Fi is available with the password: “kauaibus.”  However, in the coming weeks Wi-Fi will be made available without the requirement for a password.

Bus passengers are to observe COVID-19 safety protocols, which include wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing measures.

Up-to-date bus schedules and additional information can be found online at, the County of Kaua‘i and the Kaua‘i Bus Facebook pages, or at 246-8110.
