Tix sales for the Ho`okanaka Awards Ceremony on May 5 end at midnight tonight, April 30. The event itself, an evening of honoring and celebrating exceptional leaders on Kaua`i and held by Leadership Kaua`i will be held May 5 at the Kaua`i Marriott Resort and promises networking, celebrating, fine dining, live music and hula.

So many good causes on Kaua`i beckon us to donate. This one draws a bead on our community, looks at its underpinnings of volunteerism and leadership and builds models of leadership from youth on up.

It’s a program built on the trust and faith that we can build the community we want and that the qualities of leadership can be modeled, taught and nurtured in those around us.

Awardees will be announced at the festivity that includes entertainment by Na Hopapa, Tommy Tokioka, Paul Togioka, Halau Ka Lei Mokihana and hula by Puni Patrick.

No-host cocktails start the evening at 6 p.m.; a dinner buffet is at 7 p.m. and awards follow.
