There’s nothing more important than good health and there are many unique, inspirational and creative ways to attain it, according to the 80 booths, speakers and exhibitors who presented products and services at the 9th annual Kaua’i Wellness Expo at the Kaua’i War Memorial Convention Center last weekend.

The Kaua`i Wellness Expo began in 2005 as a vision to provide a safe place for health practitioners and wellness professionals to share their work with the public. Offering new ways to look at life and health.

This year’s theme was “Malama Na ‘Ohana” – Care for the family.  Fran Becker, the secretary and membership director of the event, says that private businesses, which promote healthy living products and services, along with government agencies, have come together “to encourage more families to participate and stay connected.”  Fran assists with volunteer coordination for the expo, and is very involved with several health department activities.

Char Ravelo, founder of Kaua’i Health and Wellness Association, kicked off the gathering with a heartfelt welcome and an inspiring invitation for one and all to partake of the varied resources.

Ceremonially, the Ka Nui Ka Pono Halau, then entered the hall, singing “I Am – Perfection of Grace”; a song written by Lei’ohu Rider. All guests were invited to join the circle and sing along in this life affirming song.

Each of the exhibitors represented their booth with high energy and a desire to share their expertise. There were several workshops, including massage, ear coning, meditation and vibrational healing, which employed the blowing of a didgeridoo.
