A Dickens Of A Christmas is based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This classic tale of covetous miser Ebenezer Scrooge, brought to life with a powerful score and a Dickensian-style script that is sure to impress. When visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, Scrooge is forced to see the coldness of his humbug ways, and learns to honor Christmas in his own heart. This is a moving holiday performance the entire family is sure to enjoy.

Sunshine Express is composed of over 40 dedicated students from Kalaheo Elementary school in grades 3 through 5. The group is under the direction of Mr. Laine Griffith. Mr. Griffith is the Kalaheo Elementary school’s music and band teacher and has been serving and educating our keiki for 21 years! Every year, starting in fall, the Sunshine Express kids meet during recess and every Saturday for 3.5 hours to practice.

The Sunshine Express group will take the singing show on the road to perform at various places on Kauai. This year they will be performing at 2 care homes for some of Kauai’s elderly on 12/6/16, at the Kauai Coffee Company open house on 12/10/16, at center stage at Kukui Grove on 12/15/16, at the Kalaheo Elementary School Cafeteria on the morning of 12/8/16 for the Kalaheo students and staff and on Friday night, 12/9/16 at 7pm for the general public at the Kalaheo Elementary School Cafeteria.

Kalaheo School’s Sunshine Express will also be featured in the Kukui Grove Christmas Parade on 11/26/16 and the Lights on Rice Parade on 12/2/16. They will be singing their hearts out in their Sunshine Express Train.

We are so fortunate to have this creative arts opportunity available to our children. Please ask our Kauai Ohana to come support our keiki.
