OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASheraton Kaua‘i Resort announced this week the University of Hawai‘i Foundation’s Wai‘ale‘ale Project at Kaua‘i Community College has been selected as its beneficiary for the Table 53 program in February.

Net proceeds for all food and beverage from Table #53 in the oceanfront RumFire Po‘ipu Beach restaurant will be used to fund scholarships for high school students and adults toward the attainment of an Associate’s degree.

UH Foundation’s mission is to unite donors’ passions with UH’s aspirations by raising philanthropic support and managing private investments to benefit UH, the people of Hawai‘i and their future generations, a press release states.

The Wai‘ale‘ale Project at Kaua‘i Community College encourages continued education by benefitting those who have never been to college and never considered attending college as an option prior to the foundation’s support.

The project is funded by a generous donor and other community foundations, offering eligible Kaua’i and Ni’ihau residents an opportunity to try college for free. The program provides scholarships and academic support to participants to attain certificates and associates degrees at KCC or just to try taking a few college courses.
