Ho’omana Named Charity of the Month at Table 53

RumFire Poipu Beach announces that Ho’omana will receive proceeds from its Table 53 program in February 2017. The fundraising program at Sheraton Kauai Resort’s oceanfront restaurant donates all net food & beverage proceeds from the designated table to a different local non-profit organization each month, and it has raised over $165,000 toward charitable causes since its inception in 2012.

Ho’omana’s mission is to “assist the emotionally, mentally, physically challenged and those with disabilities with every opportunity to reach their maximum potential.” The organization uses its Wailua thrift store as a training site for those with special needs to learn real-life and job-transferable skills to aid participants in becoming independent members of the community. Ho’omana is derived from the Hawaiian words of ho’o, meaning one that produces a result, and mana, meaning authority, power or might. Together, Ho’omana means “to place in authority or empower.”

Table 53 is located at RumFire Poipu Beach, Kauai’s oceanfront hot spot. The restaurant’s innovative menu features locally sourced cuisine with global influences and an extensive cocktail menu that includes the largest rum selection on Kaua‘i. 180-degree oceanfront views can be enjoyed from each or RumFire’s 240 seats. Table 53 is a private booth that overlooks a beautifully landscaped Ocean Courtyard, inviting fire pits and stunning sunsets. Enjoy the restaurant’s signature offerings, such as the Makaweli Beef Bone Marrow Musubi or the Smoked Rum-hattan, all while supporting a great cause. The program reminds guests, “The more you dine, the more we donate.”

Patrons who are interested in participating in RumFire’s Table 53 program are encouraged to make reservations in advance by calling 808.742.4786 and requesting Table #53. The table is available on a first come, first served basis. Net proceeds for all food and beverage at Table #53 during dinner service will be donated to the charity of the month, gratuity will be paid to the server and taxes will be remitted to the State of Hawai‘i.
