K-PAL offers all-girl boxing classes in Kapa‘a, Līhu‘e

The Kaua‘i Police Activities League (K-PAL) is accepting registrations for its all-girls boxing program in Kapa‘a and Līhu‘e.

Starting on Feb. 6, Kapa‘a classes will be held every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the K-PAL Kapa‘a Youth Center, located behind the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital.

Līhu‘e classes will continue to be held on Thursdays at the K-PAL Līhu‘e Youth Center and Boxing Gym, from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

All-girls boxing is offered to girls from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and includes techniques in boxing, self-defense and personal safety awareness.

Both the Kapa‘a and Līhu‘e classes will be instructed by Hawai‘i boxing champion Franci Davila.

Registration forms for all-girls boxing classes can be obtained online at www.kauaipal.org. A full schedule of classes with specific dates and times can also be viewed at the above website link. The fee to register is $25.
