Kalaheo School’s upcoming performances of Aladdin Jr.

“A Whole New World” arrives in Kalaheo as Kalaheo Elementary School’s legendary drama club performs Disney’s “Aladdin JR.,” playing at Kalaheo School’s auditorium starting on Friday, April 27th and Saturday, April 28th and then again on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th. All showtimes are at 7pm. There will also be a matinee on Sunday May 6th at 2PM.

This musical production based on the iconic animated film with an Academy Award-winning score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice. Disney’s Aladdin Jr. tells the story of a street urchin, Aladdin, contesting for the attention of the beautiful princess, Jasmine, with the assistance of a magical genie and flying carpet; while the villainous sorcerer, Jafar, hatches ruthless plans to prevent the two from finding love. Disney’s Aladdin Jr. is a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem and the power of love.

This is Kalaheo Elementary School’s first year with director Tani Ishino and she has these kids ready for an over the top performance. Kris Hunt, the lead for costumes has done an amazing job. Come be amazed by all the hard work that parents and students and countless volunteers from the Kauai community have put into this production. Donations are welcome and tickets are available at the school. For more information call 332-6801 or purchase them at the door before the show. General admission $5 adults, age 2-Grade 5 $1. All proceeds support the club’s return for the following year. People are admitted on a first come first serve basis so come early and enjoy the food booth and check out our wonderful silent auction items up for grab from Ono Pops, Koloa Zip Line, The Beach House and Lappert’s to name a few.
