Celebrating not only the holidays, but the 25th anniversary of Aunty Beverly Apana Muraoka’s halau hula, Healani’s Hula Halau and also, Aunty Bev’s retirement, there will be a performance of hula on Friday, Dec. 14 at the Kaua`i Veterans War Memorial Convention Hall from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aunty Bev is an institution. 2. My Three Angels opens Dec. 14

My Three Angels, a Christmas comedy melodrama presented as a staged reading, opens on Friday, December 14 at 7 p.m. at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse, followed by a reception Director Jonel Langenfeld and the cast. Food and beverages will be served.

Tickets are $10 for the opening week and $15 for the rest of the three-week run that takes place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and on Sundays at 4 p.m. The play continues through December 30.

3. A Silver Anniversary Concert at KCC on Friday, Dec. 14

Kaua`i Community College Instrumental Ensembles present A Silver Anniversary Concert — 25 years of playing beautiful music. The concert will be held at the KCC Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Included on the playlist are Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, O Holy Night, Sleigh Ride, Beethoven’s Egmont, Take Five by Paul Desmond — recorded by the Dave Brubeck Quartet in 1959, and more.
